Ace West Indies cricketer Brian Lara has applauded Sachin Tendulkar's double-century in One-Day International cricket, and says if he has a son then he would like him to bat like Tendulkar.

Lara, who is on a personal visit to India, praised Tendulkar for his other numerous records and his endurance.

"We speak a lot about cricket and about batting techniques. And I think we have a very quiet and discreet appreciation of each other's talent. That is something well known around the world. And of course, we do feed on each other. In the past, I have picked up many DVDs on Sachin and looked at the way Sachin bats and his composure. And if I had a son, I would definitely want to see him bat like Sachin," said Lara.

Lara further said that Tendulkar even has the capability of surpassing his score of unbeaten 400 in Test Cricket.

"I'd be happy if Sachin breaks my record of 400 not out in Test cricket," he said.ara further said that security has been a major concern during the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) after several terror threats, and urged miscreants to stay way form sporting events.

" I am begging all those who are thinking of anything negative to please allow the game to go on. Please allow this tournament to go on and not just this tournament, any sporting discipline that is taking place in this part of the world. I believe in what the sportsmen and sportswomen stand for, we should not be subject to such a behaviour," he added. (ANI)
